We use 2mm cast acrylic, which is visually indistinguishable from glass and virtually unbreakable. 

We specifically do not use styrene, as, though cheaper, it is normally only 1mm thick, offers far less support, and goes yellow over time. 

We use MDF backboard for strength. As MDF is a wood product, it can contain acids. To safeguard against these leeching out and affecting your print, we insert an acid free 2.6mm thick sheet of conservation barrier board between the back and print.
