Artist Background

The Norfolk coast dominates Stuart Roy's paintings. Since moving to the county, he has fallen in love with the areas majestic landscapes and seascapes. Spectacular skies and dramatic seas feature heavily in his work, and his principal goal is to recreate and reflect the atmosphere of a scene rather than make a direct visual copy. Stuart has been an artist all his life studying fine art at the University of Wales where his interest extended from drawing to photography. After graduating, alongside selling his fine art photography he worked as a professional freelance advertising photographer until moving to Norfolk completely shifted the direction of his artwork. The vast, open spaces and breathtaking lighting of Norfolk re-ignited his passion for painting, and he started to create with acrylics on canvas; the familiar signature of his portfolio today.

Product Specification

We use 2mm cast acrylic, which is visually indistinguishable from glass and virtually unbreakable.

We specifically do not use styrene, as, though cheaper, it is normally only 1mm thick, offers far less support, and goes yellow over time.

We use MDF backboard for strength. As MDF is a wood product, it can contain acids. To safeguard against these leeching out and affecting your print, we insert an acid free sheet of conservation barrier board between the back and print.

All of our prints are delivered ready to hang.
