Limited Edition Prints are prints taken from the original artist’s work and only produced in a limited number. The print is normally signed by the artist and the number put on the actual print. So, 10 / 95 means that it is the 10th print from a maximum of 95 that can be sold worldwide. Often there will be a certificate on the back.

Originally Limited Editions were preceded by a small number, usually ten, of Artists Proofs. These were produced to ensure that the edition was correct.

Limited Edition Prints are produced to a higher standard than Open Edition Prints. A Limited Edition Print cannot legally be sold as an Open Edition as well.
