Artist Background
Artist Background
Doug Eaton spent his childhood in Coleford, Forest of Dean and in the late sixties he went on to attend the Cheltenham College of Art. By 1977 he was painting full time and exhibited at the Hereford Museum as part of a four-man show. After taking some time out from painting, he returned to his passion in 2001 to paint impressions of his Forest of Dean surroundings that he knows so well. Vibrant, vivid colours mix with textures and strong lines and shapes in Doug's paintings.
Contrasting elements come together; soft versus hard, light versus dark. He prefers a painterly look over a clinical one and dribbles of paint are left to remind the viewer that it is paint at the end of the day. Working quickly in acrylics, Doug creates angular, refracted images that evoke the engaging landscape of the Forest of Dean.

Product Specification
We use 2mm cast acrylic, which is visually indistinguishable from glass and virtually unbreakable.
We specifically do not use styrene, as, though cheaper, it is normally only 1mm thick, offers far less support, and goes yellow over time.
We use MDF backboard for strength. As MDF is a wood product, it can contain acids. To safeguard against these leeching out and affecting your print, we insert an acid free sheet of conservation barrier board between the back and print.
All of our prints are delivered ready to hang.
