Artist Background

Born in 1965 in Oldham, England, Mell Allen went on to study photography at Blackpool and Fylde College. He then moved to London for a photographer's assistant job which opened up a wealth of opportunity. He worked on location with some fantastic landscape and location photographers including Pete Seaward. Mel fell in love with landscape photography during these exciting new experiences shooting in beautiful outdoor locations. Although landscape photography is his main focus, Mel has also worked for various design and PR clients and advertising campaigns. His iconic image, 'Ullswater', showcases the lake district in all its tranquil beauty. Mel Allen is now considered a prestigious location photographer in his own right.

Product Specification

We use 2mm cast acrylic, which is visually indistinguishable from glass and virtually unbreakable.

We specifically do not use styrene, as, though cheaper, it is normally only 1mm thick, offers far less support, and goes yellow over time.

We use MDF backboard for strength. As MDF is a wood product, it can contain acids. To safeguard against these leeching out and affecting your print, we insert an acid free sheet of conservation barrier board between the back and print.

All of our prints are delivered ready to hang.
